Doggy Day/Play Care is a unique and expanding business designed for dog owners who are at work all day, have social engagements and/or errands duriing the day - and is different than a traditional pet sitter.  Because dogs have no sense of time, they have no idea when you will return home.  This leads us to believe that the rise in animal anxiety and separation  issues stem from dogs being left alone for long hours.

As pack animals, Dogs need the company of humans or other dogs.  At Poochie’s Sarasota, FL facility we separate the dogs by size  and temperament so that we can be sure they are forming a pack with other dogs they feel comfortable with.  When your Pooch returns home, he or she will be physically and emotionally pooped.  Unlike a pet sitter who stays at your home, we provide both indoor and outdoor facilities equipped with toys, agility equipment, beds, pools and treats.  Each Doggy area is equipped with cameras so that you may check in on your pet and watch them play. 

We want you to be secure in the knowledge that  Poochie’s is the perfect place for your Pooch.  Please call in advance for a Day/Play care  Interview.  Poochie’s cannot accept aggressive dogs or dogs that have not been neutered or spayed.

• We accept dogs of all ages.  If your dog is elderly we will place him/her within our personal space with special orthopedic beds.
• All dogs must be current with their vaccinations which include Bordetella,rabies and Distemper.
• Each dog must undergo an initial behavioral assessment to determine whether it is human or dog aggressive.
• To assure successful pack formation it is recommended that you make a one day a week commitment so that your dog is comfortable with the other “regulars” that day.   They really do form Doggy friendships.
• Signed waivers are required for enrollment and can be downloaded directly from our Web Site.

Drop off time is 7:30 a.m.
Pick up by 6:00 p.m.
 
Each dog has the free run of 3000 square feet of air conditioned indoor space as well as 3,000 square feet of outdoor fenced in space equiped with playground equipment, agility equipment, toys, balls, frisbees and pools.  We provide constant supervised play all day.  If dogs get tired they simply find a cool place to take a nap.

We do not have mandatory nap time and dogs are NEVER put in crates or kennels.  Poochies is entirely crate/cage free. Our outdoor fenced in area is equiped with astroturf so dogs never get dirty.  We pride ourselves in keeping Poochies extremely clean so you will never smell urine or feces odors.  The astroturf is cleansed and sprayed down each evening as well.
